ENHYPEN’s JAY Targeted by Stalker Impersonating Internet Employee
BELIFT LAB revealed that it has filed a criminal complaint against an individual accused of repeatedly contacting ENHYPEN’s JAY through his personal phone number under false pretenses.
According to the agency, the individual initially impersonated an employee of an internet and television installation service, falsely claiming to have connections to the artist’s family in an attempt to obtain further personal information. Despite JAY ‘s lack of response, the individual continued making repeated calls, secretly recorded their conversations, and distributed the recordings across platforms including KakaoTalk, Instagram, and X Spaces.
BELIFT LAB stated that the incident caused the artist significant psychological distress and raised concerns about further privacy violations. The agency has since filed a criminal complaint and contacted South Korea’s three major telecommunications providers to request assistance in identifying the individual.
The company also thanked fans for submitting reports and encouraged them to continue reporting potential violations through its Artist Rights Protection platform.
Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy, BELIFT LAB stated that it would pursue strict legal action against stalking and the unauthorized disclosure of artists’ personal information, adding that it would offer neither leniency nor settlements to those responsible.
