Evan opens up about his departure from ENHYPEN
“A lot of fans knew I was making music, and I too had been thinking that I wanted to share my music with the fans. Through that music, I honestly thought that I could give them great happiness. So, in order to show them this music, I shared such thoughts with the company, and made this decision”, stated Evan, formerly known as Heeseung of ENHYPEN, on his interview with Teen Vogue.
The interview followed the member’s departure from the group, on March 10. The incident resulted in complains and protests from fans, questioning the reason behind the sudden announcement.
When further asked to reveal the reason behind his departure, Evan politely refused to answer the question, explaining that “this honestly is not his story to tell” and an answer could affect members of the company and beloved people.
He also shared that the day of the announcement, he tried to ease his worry by doing activities he would do on any normal day. In the month that followed, he tried his best to improve himself, focusing on music production and vocal practice.
Heeseung’s solo debut album, ‘DEATH OF ME’, will be released next Monday, September 7.
