What happened to K-Pop’s BADVILLAIN?
“Zoom”, “Thriller”, “BADVILLAIN”… A discography that left a permanent mark on k-pop, even for a short period of time. And after the most recent comeback in September 2025… Silence.
BADVILLAIN debuted in 2024, with the track under the same name. The first girl group fully developed by the company, they held a fierce concept with hip-hop elements and challenging choreographies.
Their following releases, “Hurricane”, “Zoom” and “Thriller”, became hits especially among dance communities and brought the group under the lights of publicity.
It wasn’t long, however, before the problem arose.
ONE HUNDRED, the parent entertainment company of BADVILLAIN’s home, BPM Entertainment, was met with insurmountable financial difficulties. With Taemin and THE BOYZ terminating their contracts, as well as EXO-CBX entering a legal dispute and accusing the company of owing them large totals of money, the label seemed to decide to put an end to BADVILLAIN’s public activities.
As a result, the group entered a phase of unofficial disbandment.
Is there still hope for BADVILLAIN to return?
Nothing is impossible, but it seems highly unlikely for the time being. Members Emma and Yunseo created personal Instagram accounts and unfollowed the group’s profile, while INA and HU’E made no mention to BADVILLAIN on theirs.
