AM8IC: The K-Pop Group With A Unique Dark Fantasy Lore – Storyline Explained
Get ready to embark on a journey inside the unique lore of thisfresh boy group addition to the k-pop scene.
Get to know AM8IC
AM8IC made their debut on November 10, 2025, as a 5-member group. Even though all members come from China, Mingkai, Roux, Saho, Chungyi, and Chen trained in the k-pop system and debuted under TOV Entertainment.
Throughout their releases, they’ve followed a well-curated, consistent narrative: the story of 5 lost boys who are caught inside a fake dream realm.

The Meaning Behind The Name
The name “AM8IC” (pronounced “AMBIC”) derives from the words “AMBI”, meaning two-way, and CONNECT, highlighting the importance of forming meaningful bonds.
Their fandom name “QU8IC” is inspired by the word ‘QUESTION’ and encourages the fans to question and discover new meanings together.
Chapters
1. Paracosm (Prologue)
The introduction to AM8IC’s fantasy world. It’s where we first meet LUKOIE, a deity depicted as a spider. He traps his victims by creating illusions through false dreams.
The group’s logo itself resembles the shape of a spider.
2. Escher
A tribute to M.C. Escher’s art with its characteristic disorted of space. In this track, AM8IC find themselves in an unsettling, confusing world of never-ending staircases. ‘Escher’ presents the feeling of being trapped through psychotic beats.
The choreography showcased in the performance video has remained loyal to the concept, with parts of the dance being inspired by the movements of a spider.
3. Link Up
“Link Up” brings the keyword of “Connection” to the foreground. The members reach the realization that illusions can be broken through forming strong bonds.
In the M/V, we can see the group breaking the dreams like cobwebs and helping each other regain their senses and run towards their escape.
4. Buzzin’
The fight against LUKOIE. Towards the end of the M/V, the members can be seen fighting a giant spider. An interesting detail is that their weapons are nothing other than musical instruments. Could it possibly mean that music plays a role in escaping the chaotic dreamscape?
5. LUKOIE
Along with Escher, the darkest track in the group’s discography. Its composition creates an uneasy atmosphere with unsettling bass and unexpected, unconventional sounds.
6. Black Moon
A song with a much more hopeful tone. The members’ “Link Up” has started fighting off the illusions.
7. Rascals (Find The Pearl)
The group’s upcoming single album is dropping at the end of October. While we can’t be certain of the exact concept it’s going to follow, the group has shared a post that could turn out to be informative.
There are three items featured in the post:
- The Rope – A survival item carried by CHUNGYI. Secured to a rock or a sturdy post, it helps the RASCALS cross where they cannot go on foot.
- The Broken Compass – The compass the RASCALS trusted to lead them toward the Pearl has been broken. Now, they have to find their own way.
- The Map – Drawn by the RASCALS, with a trail for every step they take.
