“I found out it was cancer” Evan, formerly in ENHYPEN, reveals childhood illness

“I was diagnosed with malignant lymphoma”, shared Evan, former member of ENHYPEN known as Heeseung.

The revelation came during a conversation about the idol’s scatterbrained childhood personality. What first appeared with symptoms of coughing and difficulty to breathe during exercise, soon turned out to be more than a mere cold.

The treatment process wasn’t easy, but Evan maintained a brave demeanour. He kept his passion for music alive by participating in and hosting hospital events, such as talent shows for patients.

Unfortunately, the return to his previous life after overcoming his illness was met with mocking comments about his hair, that had fallen off due to chemo and were gradually growing back. This experience transformed his personality into a more introverted one and is still painful to talk about.

Lines in his upcoming songs “Noise” and “Death of Me” have been inspired by this era of his life. They serve as a hopeful reminder of staying strong during hard times.
